SUMMARY:Why an Ownership Strategy Matters
DESCRIPTION:Ownership is much more than holding shares. How we define ownership shapes the goals\, responsibilities\, and long-term direction of a family business. \nIn this hybrid event\, we will explore how different perspectives on ownership influence the purpose and content of an ownership strategy. \nAs a participant\, you will gain: \n\n\nA deeper understanding of the different dimensions of ownership \n\n\n\n\nAn opportunity to discuss ownership issues with owners from other family businesses 🤝\n\n\n\n\nNew perspectives on the role of ownership in sustaining family businesses across generations 🌱\n\n\nThe session will be moderated by Professor Peter Jaskiewicz\, Full Professor of Family Enterprise at the Telfer School of Management in Ottawa. He will challenge participants to consider how different interpretations of ownership — who the owners are\, what ownership means\, and which rights and responsibilities it carries — can fundamentally shape an ownership strategy. \n💡 Ultimately\, an ownership strategy helps business families move from simply owning shares to becoming intentional\, responsible stewards of a shared legacy.\nThe event is free of charge and open to members of both Perheyritysten liitto and FBN International. \nThis event is highly relevant for both current and future owners. We particularly encourage participation across generations to foster shared understanding and meaningful dialogue. \n�\n One-on-One Discussions\nPeter is happy to offer one-on-one meetings to Perheyritysten liitto members who would like to discuss their ownership-related questions or challenges privately.  \nIndividual meetings are available on August 18th and 19th.
