Winter Academy 2027 – Sisu: The Courage to Step Forward

Winter Academy is back! From 28–31 January 2027, Next Gen family business members from Finland and beyond will gather in Pyhä, Finnish Lapland, for four days of learning, meaningful conversations, new perspectives and unforgettable experiences.

This year, Winter Academy explores a concept deeply rooted in Finnish culture: Sisu (=endurance)

What does it take to navigate uncertainty, embrace change and keep moving forward when the path ahead is not yet clear? For the next generation of family business owners, these questions are particularly relevant. Taking on responsibility for a family business, finding your own role and preparing for a future that is increasingly difficult to predict all require courage, resilience – and perhaps a little sisu.

Through inspiring family business stories, thought-provoking discussions and shared experiences, we’ll look at how we can build the capacity to adapt, make bold decisions and shape the future rather than simply react to it.

But Winter Academy is about much more than what happens in the seminar room. It’s about connecting with other Next Gens who understand the opportunities and challenges that come with being part of a family business. Expect honest conversations, shared experiences, new friendships – and, of course, plenty of time to enjoy everything a Finnish winter in Lapland has to offer.

Winter Academy 2027 is open to FBN Next Gen members from Finland and all over the world!

Whether you are already actively involved in your family business, exploring what your future role might look like, or simply curious about the journey ahead, Winter Academy is a place to learn, connect and find your own kind of sisu.

Welcome to Pyhä. See you at Winter Academy 2027!
